Two Individuals Charged with Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder after the incarceration fatality of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 stand indicted for homicide and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the effort to sexually assault an infant.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
